One of the newest pieces of work I’ve been a part of here at the agency is the launch of the Meet The VWs facebook initiative. 14 invidual model fan pages have been created along with a really interesting facebook application. The facebook application makes use of the API in innovative and unique ways. All in all, this has been a great project.

BurgerKing Whopper Bar is a great new initiative from BurgerKing. The premise is a “pimp my ride” for Whoppers. The initial location is down in Universal Studios Florida, and I’m anxious to see how it does.

Babymaker 3000 was an initative to support the upcoming launch of the Routan, VW’s first minivan. We created two digital initiatives that centered around the use of facial recognition software, and genetic feature influence. The result was a virtual “babymaker” that allowed people multiple means of viewing the resulting child from 2 different parents.

In addition to the Babymaker 3000 website, we created a sister facebook application, that brought the Babymaker Experience to the social network.

I’m A PC was a large campaign for Microsoft, that was centered around user generated content. A key component of this campaign was a digital out of home production taking place in Times Square, that incorporated this user generated content.
In addition to the entry path of the website, we needed a means of capturing user content by our street teams. In order to do this, I was asked to build an application that would allow the street team to, capture the image of the individuals encountered on the street, capture their “saying”, and then save the image to local storage.

In addition, I built a service that ran at a predetermined interval and pushed the content to moderation systems, from which we pushed the content to both the website, and the times square sign.

I’ve worked on the builders since starting at CP+B. The goal was to increase performance and speed through the vw builders. Through various programatic changes, and revisition of asset creation, we have made great strides and performance has been increased signficantly.

While at my last job, PointRoll, I was fortunate enough to be profiled in a case study about the live ad units we produced. The video is pretty straight forward and talks about the process we put in place, as well as the critical nature of the adobe ecosystem to what PointRoll does.

I wanted to add this quickly, being that it’s a bit of old hat, but no worries. One of the pieces of software, or platform, depending on your school of thought, I created when I was at PointRoll was the PointRoll Flash API. This was an ActionScript 2/3 API that provided a consistent code based interface to the PointRoll Platform.

Prior to working at CP+B I worked at PointRoll for 4 years. PointRoll was a start up when I started there, and has now grown in to a subsidiary of Gannett, Inc. One of the things I accomplished there was creating the first ad unit to pull in a live feed. Some interesting stats about the unit:
- First ever truly live feed in an ad unit
- The ad was powered by an admin system that allowed for full contingency planning
- Our peak period saw throughput of 38 gigs per second on Flash Media Server (Highest ever at that point )
In addition to this, I also accomplished another live feed shortly after this one, for the second live feed. Adobe chose to write a case study about the two executions: Adobe Case Study
